This week is Book Expo America 2013, so I’m sharing some of my recommendations for summer reading. Right now I’m reading Where’d You Go, Bernadette by Maria Semple and am finding it entertaining so far. I find myself rushing a bit because I want to know about the events leading up to Bernadette’s disappearance. I think I originally read about it in PEOPLE and I trust their book recommendations.
Next I am going to read the third book in the YA series Belles by Jen Calonita. I just finished her book Reality Check about a group of Long Island girlfriends who star in a reality show. Fans of The Hills will definitely enjoy it. I also recently read The Revenge of the Girl with the Great Personality by Elizabeth Eulberg which I loved.
Revenge Wears Prada by Lauren Weisberger is out June 4th so I’ve asked for that as a birthday gift and am anxious to get it.
And of course Pretty Little Liars #13 is also out on the 4th, so that will probably bump to the top of my list as I MUST know what happens next.
I’ve learned not to talk too much about the books I want to read because when I get backlogged I feel bad when it takes me forever to actually read the book, if my lengthy to-read list on Goodreads is any indication.
If you’re looking for fun summer-specific beach reads, two of my favorite YA series are the Summer Boys series by Hailey Abbott, which takes place in Maine, and The Au Pairs by Melissa de la Cruz, which takes place in the Hamptons. I have a summer shelf on Goodreads here.
