On My Radar: Pop Art, Popular, Disney’s Bears, Dance Moms

Lauren Sherman explains in this article from November 2013 why she isn’t wearing heels anymore. As someone who spent her formative years wearing Keds exclusively, I’m glad more comfortable shoes are being embraced by the fashion set. You can read my article about being tall and not wearing heels here on The Huffington Post. [Elle.com]

Maya Van Wagenen’s memoir, Popular: Vintage Wisdom for a Modern Geek. For her eighth grade year, Maya read Betty Cornell’s Teen-Age Popularity Guide and recorded the results. I’m nearly finished with the book now. It’s heartfelt and sweet. [The Daily Beast]

Disney’s Bears movie, out April 18. When I texted my best friend to ask if I was weird for wanting to see Disney’s bears, she thought I was talking about a cartoon. But it isn’t! It looks like the bear version of March of the Penguins! Look at those furry faces! [Disney.com]

Dance Moms. I watched this show a few years ago and just started up again. Tuesday nights are a busy night on my TV schedule as Dance Moms, 19 Kids and Counting (which I sometimes watch) and Degrassi are all on at the same time. Degrassi usually wins out since I don’t have a DVR. #thestruggleisreal. There is usally a Dance Moms on from 8-9 though, so at least I can watch that. This week, Abby has cast an all-new competitive dance team. DRAMA. I think this is the end of season 4 but I’m always down for a rerun. [Lifetime]
